The Five Purposes of Christ the King Church are based on two great statements given by Jesus.

The Great Commandment...

"Jesus said, 'Love the Lord your God with all your heart...soul...and mind. This is the first and greatest commandment. And the second is like it... 'Love your neighbor as yourself'. All the Law and Prophets hang on these two commandments'". Matthew 22:37-39 New International Version

  • Purpose #1 - WORSHIP - Loving God with all your heart... Expressing our love to God, individually or corporately, becomes an act of worship.
  • Purpose #2 - SERVE - Loving your neighbor as yourself... Any tangible act of love done for others on behalf of Jesus becomes an act of service.

The Great Commission

"Jesus said, 'Go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you.' " Matthew 28:19-20 New International Version

  • Purpose #3 - REACH - Go make disciples of all people... Any and all efforts to reach someone outside of the Christian faith with the message of God's redemptive love becomes an act of reaching out.
  • Purpose #4 - CONNECT - Baptize them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit... When someone is water baptized, they officially become connected with the other members of the church.
  • Purpose #5 - GROW - Teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you... We grow spiritually by learning and obeying God's Word. The primary purpose of spiritual growth is to become more like Jesus Christ.

It's important over a period of time to Experience all Five Purposes!
