Clear Home — Clear Tomorrow KC
Long-Term Vision Clear Home

Everyone deserves a place to call home.

A record shouldn't decide whether someone has somewhere safe to live. Clear Home is our long-term commitment to changing that — anchored by a vision for a dedicated Kansas City reentry campus.

Where things stand today: Clear Home is a real, multi-year commitment — not a program that's fully built yet. We're honest about that timeline because the people who need housing support deserve honesty, not a promise we can't keep. Below is where we are, what we're working toward, and what's actually available right now.

What Clear Home Is Really For

A record shouldn't be the reason someone doesn't have keys of their own.

Why Housing Comes First

Without stable housing, everything else gets harder.

Housing is one of the most common places a criminal record does lasting damage — and one of the hardest barriers to talk your way around.

Public housing bansAffect both individuals and families, not just the person with the record.
Landlord denialsMany landlords deny leases based on any conviction, regardless of how long ago or how minor.
Homelessness after releaseA common outcome post-incarceration — and one that significantly increases the likelihood of recidivism.
The Roadmap

From navigation support today to a campus down the road.

This is a multi-year vision, not a one-year plan. We'd rather show the real timeline than a rushed one.

01
Now

Navigation & Partnerships

Helping people navigate housing barriers directly, and building fair-chance landlord relationships in Kansas City so a record doesn't automatically end a lease application.

02
Building

Pilot Partnerships & Groundwork

Growing our network of fair-chance housing partners, building the funding and coalition relationships a project like this requires, and learning from transitional housing models elsewhere.

03
Long-Term Vision

The KC Reentry Campus

A dedicated space where housing, behavioral health, and economic mobility support sit under one roof — connected directly to Community Cares and Clear Path. This is a multi-year commitment; we're being upfront that it's a longer horizon, not a next-year opening.

What We're Building Toward

What a reentry campus could actually offer.

Transitional Housing

A safe, stable place to land immediately after reentry — not a shelter bed, but a real bridge to permanent housing.

On-Site Wraparound Support

Behavioral health, case management, and reentry navigation available where people are already living, not somewhere else they have to travel to.

Connected to Economic Mobility

Direct ties to Clear Path's entrepreneurship and credentialing work, so stable housing and stable income build together.

A Model for Kansas City

A demonstration site other cities and providers can learn from and adapt — not just a building, but proof of what's possible.

Right Now

You don't have to wait for the campus to get help today.

The long-term vision doesn't change what's available to you this week. If housing is the barrier standing between you and stability, here's where to start.

Housing Navigation

We help you understand your options and connect with fair-chance landlords already in our network.

Clear Your Record First

Many housing denials trace back to a record that Clean Slate or expungement could resolve — Clear Start can help you check.

Help us get there faster.

A project like the KC Reentry Campus moves at the speed of its funding and partnerships. If this vision matters to you, we'd rather build it with you than wait alone.
